MCM/ICM Contest
Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), challenges teams of students to clarify, analyze, and propose solutions to open-ended problems. The contest attracts diverse students and faculty advisors from over 500 institutions around the world.
The Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), an international contest for high school students and college undergraduates. ICM is an extension of the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM). It is designed to develop and advance interdisciplinary problem-solving skills as well as competence in written communication.

各院（系）团委：
为了培养学生的创新意识及运用数学方法和计算机技术解决实际问题的能力，并为我校选拔竞赛参赛队员，现面向全校发布2010美国数学建模竞赛报名及培训通知，欢迎各院（系）团委组织学生参与，同时希望广大学生爱好者按照竞赛章程的规定积极参与，现将有关要求通知如下：
一、报名安排：
时间：2009年11月29日（周日）9：00；
地点：11#154大教室现场报名。
二、培训安排：
1、培训内容：数学建模相关、模拟赛等；
2、培训时间：暂定2009年12月上旬，2010年1月上中旬。
三、参赛资格：
1、曾参加过全国、国际数模竞赛并获得奖励；
2、对数学建模竞赛具有极大的兴趣和热情，具有较好的数学基础、熟练的计算机编程能力、具备使用常用软件进行科学计算的能力；
3、具有较强的英文科技论文阅读和写作能力；
4、能全程参加集训和辅导，认真坚持。
满足以上要求的同学优先考虑。
四、相关资料：
数学建模竞赛和交叉学科建模竞赛，始于1985年，主办单位美国运筹学学会、工业与应用数学学会、数学学会、美国国家安全局。其宗旨是鼓励大学生对范围并不固定的各种实际问题予以阐明、分析并提出解法。我校1994年参加了美国国际数学建模竞赛，成绩显著，截止2009年，我校学生获得国际数学建模竞赛一等奖8项、二等奖35项。下届竞赛将于2010 年2月18—22日举行。
