Third step: watching pictures and reading some simple words
When babies are more than three years old, they can look at pictures and understand the meanings what they show about. That is because they have learned the scenes by observing with their keen vision when they are not old enough to speak. At this stage, babies can soak up knowledge very fast, and they are also good at memorizing what they have learnt.

Last step: writing and expressing ideas with ease
As a baby grows older, he or she acquires the basic language skills that enable him or her to learn new words and form simple and complex sentences. From then on, they continue to add to their knowledge of the language.

According to the steps above, we can see that most natural way for people learn mother language is by listening, speaking, reading and then writing. However, Chinese English education is just bottom up the order, students are taught to write the words first, and then do a lot of practice in reading, and the last step is listening and speaking. It is obviously not most natural order, and that is the reason why most of people feel difficult to learn English even they spend several years on it. Thus, English education in China should correct the steps of teaching order so that learners may master the language naturally as a baby does.

4.2 Confirm the correct pattern of English education: change the direction of “writing-reading-speaking-listening” to “listening – speaking – reading - writing”
The purpose of English teaching is to let the student acquire four skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing. However, the goal is not to obtain good grades but to empower the student so that he or she can use the new language for communicating with others, new words to hang ideas on and new sentence patterns to unlock doors in the mind through which thoughts cab flow freely and new concepts can be conceived.
Why do we study English? If a man is only good at listening and speaking, can we say that he is good at English? No. If a man is only good at reading and writing, can we say that he is good at the language? No. If a student is good at English, he should be able to use the language, both in speaking and writing.
Now most of the students do better in reading and writing English than in listening and speaking. They can read and write, but they can hardly communicate. They can hardly express themselves with their own words. This is partially because of our examination system, and partially of the teaching method. We are not able to change the examination system, but we can improve our teaching methods.
Most of all the teachers like to provide the students with a lot of knowledge-words, phrases, grammar, usages and so on; they are focusing these things, especially on the grammar. Yes, the students do need these, but many teachers forget to teach them how to study English, and how to use it. So when you are giving the knowledge to the students, don't forget to teach them all the abilities of the four skills.
It is no doubt that the fours skills are vital for English learners, but the most important thing is that we should correct the order of these fours skills. On the basis of the analysis of how babies learn a new language above, it is known that the correct order of English learning should be “listening-speaking-reading-wiring”, which should take the place of the traditional order.

4.3 Chinese English education should be linked with the situation of the country
After China's open-door policy and comparatively recent entry into the WTO, English has become more important and urgent than ever, which in turn brings Chinese the opportunity and challenge as well. Though Chinese are given the platform to learn English, more exactly, to communicate in English, the problem is that, though China's schools have set up English courses in every level and attach great importance to it in the University Entrance Examinations to increase awareness, the defects in English teaching and learning cannot be neglected. Most Chinese school teachers lay emphasis on grammar for the sake of written exams, while on the other hand ignore the students' development of speaking ability, leaving so many people getting high scores in paper but unable to spe毕业论文http://www.751com.cn/ak English out.
There is huge market demand on English education in our country, but because of the principle of the English language and purpose of education is not so clear, the National Education in English education is lack of overall planning and the standard interface between the phases, which result in the government's cold to the English education but people crush in it. It also causes the multiple and complex educational system, which is leading to a cost ineffective English education in China.
On the other side, Chinese English education is basic on the regular English, which phonetics, vocabulary, sentence pattern, grammar and other sides of the language are in the special situation of China. The problems of English education in china can not been solved only in theory. As English has become global, it will also be national. Therefore, if we want to spread abroad and develop the affection of English in China, we have to link with the special situation of our country. Moreover, Chinese English teaching should make contract with the social life of the country, in this way, Chinese people can gain the golden key to the outside world.
Conclusion
With the fast development of economy and society, English education has been greatly improved in China. However, there are still many problems existing in present-day English education. Through analyzing the conditions and problems of English education above, it is not difficult for us to see that the traditional English teaching mode is still the most serious problem in China.  
Compared with American education, the teaching activity in China ought to be learner-centra1,in which the learners should be esteemed,encouraged and given the most chances to do language practice and communication in order to impel them to take an active part in the activities to 1earn the language knowledge and develop integrated language applying ability on their own initiative.Teachers must guide learners to do good jobs of preparing lessons before class,doing practical communicative activities in class, and revising lessons and extending knowledge and developing more language skills and applying ability after class.
Looking forward to the new century, we have to continuously improve the level of foreign language teaching in order to foster more and better foreign talents. Actively absorb the foreign advanced theory of foreign language teaching, at the same time, we have to rely on the existing wealth of English language teaching practice, and in theory, under the guidance of the leaning English from our country and the needs to learn the actual situation, to explore and enrich the English language with China's national conditions teaching theories and modes.
