研究表明,人们在日常生活过程中通过视觉来获取所需要的信息,这部分信息大约占人们所获得总信息数的70%。可以说,视觉是人类认识世界的主要途径。因此,性能得到明显提高的新一代H.264/AVC一经颁布,便在国际上受到了广泛的欢迎和关注,被广泛的应用在数字电视广播、视频实时通信、网络视频流媒体的传递以及多媒体信息等各个方面的发展,同时能够提供立体感和交互操作功能的多视点视频越来越受到重视。与传统的二维视频不同,多视点视频能够给用户更为逼真的视觉体验,因此也是未来的一大发展方向。但是由于多视点视频是单视点视频编码的组合,信息量大大增加,这使得人们在传输与存储时遇到不少阻碍。
H.264编解码软件JM是用于研究H.264编码算法的软件,常用来进行算法效率的测试。本文将使用JM10.1这一版本,此版本是基于H.264协议的单视点编码平台。
本文主要针对于将JM10.1这一只能对单视点视频编码转变成为一个能够处理多视点视频序列的视频编码平台。

Title Multi-view video coding technology research
Abstract
MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) developed a compression coding standard which is better than the early MPEG and H.263 in encoding performance along with VCEG(Video Coding Experts Group).This standard is
called as AVC(Advanced Video Coding).It has another call, which is ITU-T H.264 recommendations and MPEG-4 Part 10 agreement .
On the basis of statistics , all the information obtained by the vision every day more than about 70% of the total amount of outside information .In another word ,Humans understand the world mainly through the vision .So the new generation H.264/AVC that significantly improved the performance has been widely welcomed and concerned after promulgation. It is applied widely in digital television broadcasting、real-time communication video、the transmission of Internet video streaming and multimedia information. The multi-view video is paid more and more attention ,because of its third dimension and the interactive operation functions . Different from the traditional 2 d video , Multi-view video can give users a more vivid visual experience ,which made it a main development direction in the future . But compared with the traditional single viewpoint, multiple viewpoints of video data is multiplied, which brought many difficulties to transport and storage.
H. 264 codec software JM is used to study the H. 264 encoding algorithm software, for testing efficiency of algorithm. This paper used JM10.1 this version . This version is a single viewpoint coding platform based on H.264/AVC.
This paper mainly focuses on changing JM10.1 which only codes single view video into a video encoding platform that can handle the multi-view video sequences.
