Abstract The study is mainly about the Chinese translation of non-basic color words in Shakespeare’s plays. Based on collecting the non-basic color words in Shakespeare’s plays, we mainly focus on two problems. First, the study pays attention to the different translation strategies used by different translators during the translation of non-basic color words from English into Chinese. Second, the study compares the different translation strategies of the non-basic color words and analyzes the reasons why translators use different translation strategies in detail. By comparing the different translation strategies used by different translators, the study finds that due to different translation purposes, translation principles and aesthetic tropism,  translators use different translation strategies, such as free translation and literal translation. The results of the study are important because they make us not only know the true meanings of the plays, but also apply translation strategies into practical translation. We can also gain cultural differences during the application of translation strategies in practice. Furthermore, it contributes to intercultural communication.68981

摘要本研究以莎士比亚戏剧中的非基本颜色词汉译为研究对象，通过研究莎士比亚戏剧中非基本颜色词在汉译本中的翻译实例，我们主要探讨两个层次的问题：第一，本研究重点关注不同译者在进行英语非基本颜色词汉译时所采用的主要翻译策略；第二，详细对比不同译者对相同非基本颜色词语所采取不同的汉译策略的差异及其原因。本研究通过采用对比法，对不同汉译者的翻译策略进行了比较，发现出于不同翻译目的、翻译原则和审美取向，不同译者在进行非基本颜色词的汉译过程中分别主要采取意译和直译的翻译策略。这一研究成果的发现不仅可以有助于我们理解莎士比亚戏剧原文的真正含义，而且能够将不同的翻译策略运用于具体的翻译实践活动中，在了解英汉两个国家的文化差异的同时使跨文化传播收获更大的成功。
