Title Empirical Study of Effects of Context on Second Language Vocabulary Acquisition
Abstract
Language is used for communication, and communication functions determine the close relationship between vocabulary and context. In the second language vocabulary acquisition, there are often some problems for learners, for example, they can understand a word, but fail to understand it in a sentence or paragraph, even in an entire context. The reason for this is that the students lack the capability of a deep understanding of the word meaning in the context. As to the memory of Second Language Vocabulary, the learners often mechanically memorize words so that the efficiency is not good. Context plays a decisive role in the second language vocabulary acquisition, this paper studies the multifaceted impact of Context in Second Language Vocabulary, providing great inspiration and guidance in vocabulary learning and teaching. My research shows context not only plays a important role in the meaning and usage of vocabulary, but also has profound effect on vocabulary memory.

1 Introduction
In recent decades, researches in second language vocabulary acquisition caused much attention, it also shows the importance for people to improve the vocabulary knowledge of second language. There are a lot of researches in the field of second language vocabulary acquisition, the connotation of vocabulary knowledge, vocabulary acquisition process as well as research methods and strategies for vocabulary learning. However, it needs to be pointed out that researchers doing the research are for the purpose of giving the guidance for teaching, so the results of the study primarily serve for teachers and teaching. But in the actual learning process, the learner is in the dominant position in vocabulary learning, researches on vocabulary acquisition should be better from the learner's point of view in order to provide advice to learners.
Context is beneficial to second language vocabulary acquisition in the meanings between words, the usage of vocabulary and the connection between words, as well as other aspects. Context can help students more to remember vocabulary than word list does.
Starting from Context, Context and theory on vocabulary acquisition, coupled with relevant experimental studies, this paper uses empirical method to explore the important impact of context on second language vocabulary acquisition to provide a reference for second language learners' vocabulary.
