II. Characteristics of Students in Learning English

2.1    Characteristics of Pupils in Learning English
The pupils just enroll school soon, in English learning life, they not only feel fresh, but unfamiliar, therefore it is difficult to adapt to for them. For the English, they not only have a sense of curiosity, but are very difficult to listen attentively and work independently and their attention is not centralized.
The characteristics of primary school students are psychological and physiological age is relatively young, so the interest is very important for primary school students. Interest is the first and the most important teacher to students on learning English. With interesting, students will be able to learn English very well, and also can learn very relaxed and happy. Games can inspire children interest in learning, therefore, let the game in the primary school English class can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of the students, to attract the attention of students, and to keep their interesting for a long time. English used in game activities can promote their initiative on learning, and enable students to form good learning habits and learning methods, and feel English in a relaxed and pleasant environment, so that make them feel that learning English is no longer a dull dark burden, but happy to enjoy.
Therefore, in teaching, we should pay attention to stimulating students’ enthusiasm for learning English.

Language learning is boring, some students have no interest in English learning, and learning efficiency is low. Some students have improper methods of English learning. English is a very complex subject with listening, reading, speaking and writing. In the process of English learning, some students separate listening, speaking, reading and writing, they are only rote learning, and do not have scientific and effective learning methods. Some students do not want to speak English. The blind study on learning effect is greatly reduced. Learning is in a loose state without a plan and lead to not listen in class, so English is getting worse and worse.
2.3    Characteristics of High School Students in Learning English
Learning English between high school and middle school have both similarities and differences greatly, if students cannot quickly adapt to the characteristics of the high school, it is likely to fall behind in the high school stage, and some students catch up quickly if they find the methods to deal with the high school (ZhaoYuan 160).
High school students’ characteristics in English learning: students will learn, i.e., develop their own goals, make their own plans, chose their own tasks, and monitor themselves. Students are the internal factors, and play a major role. A good student must be the master of learning, rather than learning slaves. They will choose goals that they hope to achieve according to their own preferences and characteristics. They will refer to the teaching schedule and its environment to make a feasible plan. Students will work hard, and read while thinking, to grasp the theories in the books. However, the study of any branch of knowledge must be linked to the practice, and uninterrupted long-term training. To summarize, be good at learn from others. The students with good academic performances are not born great, they also suffered various setbacks and failures. However, they timely summarize problems that exist on learning methods, through contrast and identified problems and find the forward direction to move forward with greater energy.
