This thesis consists of five chapters．Chapter one introduces Khaled Hosseini and his work, and the theory of Michel Foucault’s power and discourse. Chapter two analyzes the first power relations--Pashtun and Hazara. Chapter three analyzes these second power relations--master and servant.
