1.1    Background of the Poetry
As a kind of literary carrier, poetry expresses not only the significance of the text, but also the emotion and aesthetic. Meanwhile, it can be combined with other arts, such as drama, hymns, lyrics or prose poem. Originating from the simple and powerful imagination, containing narrative, dramatic, ironic, erotic and personal forms, poetry is very abstract and hard to understand. Robert Frost, as one of the most famous American poets in the twentieth century, makes lots of beautiful, unaffected and pure poems.

Poems written by Frost mostly describe the rural life in England, such as the countryside roads, agricultural fields and pasture grass. He creates many beautiful poems like The Pasture, Birches, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, Mowing, etc. The author observes life from a unique perspective, so his poetry is simple but full of rustic feelings, being fond of by lots of readers (Liu Huimin 2013: 111). Full of realism, his poetry is very beautiful and natural.

In 1982, Liang Shiqiu says that Frost is a realistic poet. Actually, at the early time of the last century, Chinese scholars have researched Frost, as well as his poems. In 1935, Shen Tianbao says Frost does not just observe the objects, but tries to get the relationship between them. In 1930, Zhu Fu says Frost visualizes his neighbors’ tone rhythm, so we can hear that from his poems (Cao Minglun, 2013: 72) 从语境视角看《弗罗斯特诗选》的江枫译本:http://www.751com.cn/yingyu/lunwen_40165.html
