Gone with the Wind reflects the plantation life in the Old South with abundant descriptions. A lot of writers and critics have been obsessed with the idea of “plantation legend”, the noble planters, the loyal family, the unhurried life and distinctive hierarchy system. The novel vividly unfolds the picture of the plantation life of the Southerners. People enjoyed life with a heartiness --- “they seemed never too busy to drop work for a fish fry, a hunt or a horse race, and scarcely a week went by without its barbecue or ball” (2015: 58).
