ABSTRACT Conflict talk is a type of speech act and is a very common phenomenon in everyday communication. The present study tries to analyze conflict talks based on Politeness Principle and Face Theory to find solutions to family conflict talks.46383
Based on previous study, the texts concerning family conflict talk in the American sitcom Empire are to be analyzed within the framework of Politeness Principle and Face Theory. The paper analyzes the situations of violating Politeness Principle: violating tact and generosity maxim; violating approbation and modesty maxim; violating agreement and sympathy maxim. From the perspective of Face Theory, the study discusses the threatening positive face and negative face among family members.
The study has the following findings: violating tact and generosity maxim falls into refusal form and scolding form; violating approbation and modesty maxim results in sarcasm form; violating agreement and sympathy maxim brings argument form. And when conflict talks happen among family members, face threatening must be produced. So, the study reveals that families are supposed to understand each other and they should respect each other when communicating to keep a harmonious family and then promote the construction of socialist harmonious society.

摘要冲突性话语是一种语言行为，在日常生活交际中十分普遍。本研究主要研究的方向是从礼貌原则和面子理论出发，分析家庭成员之间的冲突话语，试图找到解决家庭冲突话语的方法。
本文在前人研究的基础上，利用礼貌原则和面子理论对美剧《嘻哈帝国》中父母之间及父母与孩子之间的冲突话语进行了举例分析和和话语分析。在违背礼貌原则的情况下，从以下三个方面进行分析：违背策略和宽宏准则；违背褒奖和谦逊准则；违背一致和同情准则。从面子理论的角度，会从威胁积极面子和威胁消极面子两个方面来研究。
本文得出的结论为：在违背策略和宽宏准则时，会导致责怪，拒绝；在违背褒奖和谦逊准则时下会导致讽刺；在违和同情的准则时会导致争论；然而冲突必然会威胁到双方的面子。本文认为家人之间应该互相理解，互相尊重，交流时注意方式方法，这样才能够有助于家庭和谐，从而巩固社会和谐发展。
