On the issue of happiness, comprehensive investigation is needed. From the aspect of metaphysics, happiness is related to the natural state of being, moral and social condition. From the concrete science, happiness is related to meeting one’s needs and achieving happiness. Certain material wealth is the basis to meet the human needs. As for the inpidual, happiness needs inpidual struggle to realize the personal value during the process. And for the society, to achieve happiness asks for the government to provide a good system and to create a good environment. (Ding ＆Yan, 2013: 41-46) Therefore, financial condition as well as personal struggle to achieve happiness are analyzed as two of the influencing factors of Sarton’s happiness in her old life.
