Abstract This thesis is on the studies of the view of the life in Forrest Gump. From the “stupid” behavior of Gump, people can see the spirit of his independent personality, free spirit, strength of character and a realistic attitude towards life, etc. Through watching movies, understanding the whole story and drawing on previous studies on the theme of the film, This thesis seeks to three main characters’ different lifestyles and their attitudes towards life including Gump, Jenny and Lieutenant Dan, coupled with Gump’s life credo of integrity and dedication, and the life faith reflected under the metaphor feathers and the symbol chocolate, to analyze the view of life which is reflected in Forrest Gump: learn to persevere and never give up.53296

摘要本文主要在于研究分析《阿甘正传》所折射出的人生观。在很多人眼里近乎“愚笨”的阿甘的行为当中，人们看到了一种久违的独立的人格，自由的精神，坚强的性格和现实的人生态度等诸多美德。透过欣赏电影、了解整个故事、借鉴前人对电影主题的研究，本文旨在根据电影里3个主要人物包括阿甘、珍妮和丹中尉的不同的生活方式和他们对待生活的态度，加上主人翁阿甘守诺和奉献的人生信条，以及通过对羽毛和巧克力的象征和隐喻反映出的人生信仰，从而分析《阿甘正传》这部电影所反映的人生主题：学会坚持，永不放弃。

1. Introduction
Since the late 1980s, people’s living standard has improved, recreation and leisure are also continuously enriched. With the further development of globalization and the deepening of international cultural exchange, the movie has become the most important tool to spread the culture, lifestyle and values, which is an important way for people to learn the foreign culture. Forrest Gump is very successful and it is the first English movie that college teacher recommended. Everyone can learn a lot from the main character—Gump. This thesis about the view of life in Forrest Gump tries to give some reference about the outlook on life and lay the foundation as future study and research of life theme.
Movie reflects the culture. It is a container of life. Movies can summarize the day of past, understand the day of now and look to the day of future (Ou Yangmin,2009:16-17). A good film, without any exception, is the mirror of a specific culture. From a movie, people can learn about the character and spirit of a country. Usually, what a film tries to express is more than the story itself, but the cultural messages reflected in each plot. The characters and their stories create a cultural scroll which can be perused from various aspects.
The thesis is pided it into three parts. The first is the Literature Review of Forrest Gump. On the review of the film, it simply and generally narrates the story of Gump.
