An Analysis of Greek Mythology Antetype in Harry potter  Novels
I. Introduction
By the end of the twentieth century, there has been a growing interest in the realm of children’s literature This phenomenon is “Harry Potter”, the British author Joanne Kathleen Rowling’s well-known series of novels about a young orphaned wizard who finds out about his magical power on the morning of his eleventh birthday and his following extraordinary years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The Harry Potter books are about an unwanted, orphan child who accidentally finds out that he is a wizard with magical powers. Before Rowling finished the first book, she had conceived the Harry Potter stories as a seven-volume series, with each book chronicling one year of Harry’s initiatory ordeals at Hogwarts Schoo1.As she said in an interview, “I decided that it would takes even years, from the ages of eleven to seventeen, inclusive, to train as a wizard, and each of the books would deal with a year of Harry’s life at Hogwarts” Since the success of the first novel, Rowling has published five sequels up to date:Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and Order of Phoenix, and Harry Potter and the Blood Prince.
Archetypal approaches offer some unusual opportunities for enhancement of literary appreciation and understanding. Therefore, to comprehend the deeper meaning behind the lines, which arouses resonance among readers and scholars from different countries, a systematic and in-depth analysis of the recurring archetypal elements hidden in the Harry Potter series is really necessary.
