Abstract As one of the basic abilities among listening, speaking, reading and writing, reading plays an important role in English learning. Developing reading ability is not only an important part of middle school English learning, but also an important way to improve your English. This article will explore the application of task-based approach in the middle school English reading teaching from the following aspects: the importance of reading, the current situation of middle school English reading and research on task-based teaching of reading, the advantages of this approach, as well as connotation of task-based approach (background,theoretical foundation, concepts, principles, features), combined with examples.59093

The task-based approach advocated in this study can enhance students’ interest in reading and improve students’ overall reading ability more effectively. What’s more, the final theoretical results in this topic will help promote teachers to change the traditional model and adopt themselves to the requirements of the new curriculum. All in all, the study of this topic will be conducive to deepen the application of task-based approach in middle school English reading teaching.

摘要阅读作为听说读写基本能力之一,在英语学习中扮演着重要的角色。培养阅读能力是初中英语学习的重要内容,也是提高英语水平的重要途径。本文将从阅读的重要性,初中生英语阅读的现状以及任务型阅读教学研究现状,任务型教学法的内涵(背景,理论基础,概念,原则),以及任务型教学法的优势,结合实例,探讨“任务型教学法”初中英语阅读教学中的运用。

    这一课题的研究将有利于发展学生的主体意识和合作意识,激发学生的学习动力和兴趣;且这一课题的理论研究成果会促进教师教学观念的转变;从而适应新课标的要求;并且本课题的研究将会有利于进一步深化任务型教学法在初中英语阅读教学中的运用,从而有效地提高学生的整体阅读水平。

 1. Introduction

Based on the fact that the English courses of basic education focuses on the development of students’ language knowledge, language skills, emotional attitudes, learning strategies and cultural awareness, task-based teaching approach which the new curriculum standards advocates plays an important role in achieving the goal. 

      This article mainly talks about the application of task-based approach in reading teaching, combined the examples. It is also the most significant part of the whole passage. At first, it will introduce the importance of reading, the current situation of middle school English reading and research on task-based teaching of reading. In the second part, the connotation of task-based approach including background, theoretical foundation, concepts, principles and features will be included.
