Abstract With the development of the world, education becomes more and more important for every county. It is a method to cultivate elites, and elites promise a better future of a county. There are many types of teaching approaches, but whether people use suitable teaching approaches is directly related to the success of education. There is a very close relationship between teaching approaches and a certain culture. Culture influences teaching approaches. Different teaching approaches will bring about different kinds of elites to its society.
This thesis uses constructivism teaching theory as a basic standard to judge which teaching approach can cultivate more creative students. Eastern teachers mainly use spoon-feed pedagogy, emphasizing teachers-centered teaching approach. Teachers pay attention to the contents in books, but they neglect practice of knowledge. This teaching approach is just good for helping students to get high scores on test. But students will take passive attitude to their education in this learning atmosphere.
Western teachers always take heuristic method, emphasizing students-centered teaching approach. Teachers pay attention to students’ creative ability. They encourage students to get knowledge from practice. This teaching approach is good for helping students to improve their innovative abilities. And students will become eagerly to learn in this learning atmosphere.
Today, the world is very competitive. In order to face the fierce competition, every country should cultivate more creative elites. In this aspect, teachers of eastern countries should learn more on how to lead students to apply theories into practice as the teachers of western countries do. Eastern students should apply their knowledge into practice. And western countries should learn cooperation and team spirit of eastern countries. Western students should help each other in their studies or works.
Analyzing similarities and difficulties of eastern and western teaching approaches, people can find their own advantages and disadvantages in eastern and western education. And then they can also find that western teaching approach accords with constructivism teaching theory. This teaching approach can cultivate students’ creativities. But eastern education does not follow constructivism teaching theory. This teaching approach emphasizes students’ basic knowledge.
Finally, this paper will put forward some reasonable recommendations to education according to these advantages and disadvantages in eastern and western teaching approaches.

本文以建构主义理论为标准,来判断哪个国家的教学能够培养更多的创造性人才。通过对东西方教师教学法的分析可知,东方的教学方法主要是采取填鸭式,强调以教师为中心,教师的主要作用是传授学生知识,却忽略了知识的实践。这样的方法只是有助于学生在应对考试时取得良好的成绩,但是在这种教学环境下的学生会产生消极的学习态度。
西方的教学方法主要是采用启发式教学,强调以学生为中心,教师的作用是激发学生的自主学习能力,专注于对学生创造力的培养,他们鼓励学生在实践中领悟知识。这样的方法有助于更好的增强学生的创新能力。在这种学习环境下学生会积极主动的想要获取知识。
