    目前的数据显示昆虫咽侧体对HMG-CoA还原酶抑制剂的高灵敏度以及该昆虫可能成为甲羟戊酸形成抑制剂的研究模型。HMG-CoA还原酶抑制剂对JH相关生理的影响由于它们短暂的作用而似乎被限制了,但氟伐他汀的致死作用能够表明在昆虫生理学的一些甲羟戊酸衍生物上的重要作用。既然它们不合成胆固醇,昆虫组织可能为类异戊二烯生物合成的研究提供优秀的模型。
