The performance-based of smoke control design is based on the fire safety objective. It makes the best smoke control scheme come to possible by analyzing the smoke movement of fire through a variety of flue gas flow model. There is a lot of software used for simulating smoke movement. Today, FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) is used widely. This Fire Dynamics simulation software is developed by standards and technology of the U.S. national institute (NIST). This software has high requirement to the operator. People who use the software must have high logical ability and programming ability. This article use pyrosim to design the smoke control system. Pyrosim is developed on the basis of the FDS software. It provides a graphical user interface for the dynamic simulation of fire .Users can model, set the boundary conditions, fire and burning materials directly. Its operation is simple to learn.
The library in our school is taken as the research object in this paper. It has 11layers.The early stage of the design is to collect, read and excerpt of provisions about smoke control design. The next stage is to investigate our school library field, including the location of the exhaust port and the overall arrangement and smoke exhaust facilities. And describe them into draft. Then, according to the previous excerpts of our school, complete smoke control design according to the specification requirements. Through simulation data and section figure from Pyrosim, to evaluate
the effect of smoke control, puts forward improvement schemes, such as increasing smoke shutter, etc. According to the result of the design of the monolayer and multilayer, compare the feasibility of the schemes, and provide the basis for smoke control design of high-rise buildings.
