通过对中铝上海铜业的认知实习，以中铝上海铜业有限公司提供的各种技术参考资料为设计原则，不允许各个设备超出实际的技术指标；根据中铝上海铜业有限公司现有的生产流程以及产品，进行对产品生产熔炼工艺的制订、轧制制度编制、辊型制度制定、电机能力校核、轧辊强度校核，在设计过程中利用电脑软件Visual Basic编程语言，对轧制力及轧制力矩进行计算程序的编制，利用电脑软件Auto CAD对轧辊图进行绘制。从而设计出符合实际生产标准的产品及其生产流程。
设计主要内容包括：原料的选择、生产工艺的制定、产品工艺的计算、主要设备和辅助设备的选择，并且对主要设备（轧辊和电机）的能力进行了校核，对车间的主要经济指标、生产车间布置和环境保护，进行了设计和规划。
