《西厢记》和《牡丹亭》中的女主人公——崔莺莺和杜丽娘，她们作为我国文学史上杰出的女性形象，到现在为止，两个人物的影响力不减，很多戏剧舞台都在上演二人的故事。她们成为热爱生活、追求幸福和自由的女性代表，成为中国妇女反抗封建压迫的典型，在戏曲长廊甚至世界舞台都独具异彩，深受人们欢迎。
