Abstract
It is well known that the chivalry originated from Europe, and during hundreds of years of history, it developed, changed and extended continuously, with the knight wind popular in Europe and the world, the chivalry influenced life and work of generations. In the time of several centuries, plenty of people show their great curiosity about medieval chivalry, but know little about the definition of knight and its development process, let alone the detailed contents of the chivalry.
The thesis presents readers with a general knowledge of the knight and the European medieval chivalry by telling the origin of the chivalry and its development history in the medieval times. What is more, through concretely introducing its influence on literature, daily life and marriage of today’ s world to readers, the paper explores the chivalry’s endless attractions, which will help people inherit and promote European medieval chivalry.
The paper falls into six parts. The first part serves as an introduction. The second part aims at detailed analysis to the situation of European politics, economy and religion. The third part elaborates knight’s emergence, development and decay. The fourth part tells the chivalry’s definition, development and change. The fifth part probes into the influence of the European medieval chivalry on today’s literature, marriage and lifestyle. The sixth part functions as a conclusion, which delivers briefly the writer’s personal views and outlook on the knight spirit in the future.

本文通过对骑士精神的起源、它在中世纪的发展历程的记述,使人们对骑士和骑士精神有了初步的了解,通过详细介绍中世纪骑士精神对当今世界的文学、日常生活和婚姻的影响,使读者进一步了解到骑士精神的巨大魅力,这都有利于人们对欧洲中世纪骑士精神的传承和发扬。
