1 Introduction
Errors seem to be an unavoidable phenomenon in the process of learning a foreign language.
This study is designed to analyze lexical errors made by non-English majors in their
writings. By analyzing 120 non-English majors' compositions, this study tries to arouse the
teachers and learners' awareness of the importance of lexis. This may initiate teachers into
the phenomenon and take proper measures to help students reduce lexical errors in writing.
