Abstract
Emma is considered as one of the most mature novels among Austen’s six novels and is also regarded as one of the most classic novels of 19th century, in which love, marriage, morality, hierarchy and social status embody the realism of the author and that era.
Love and marriage is the main topic in Emma.There are love stories about four heroes and heroines in Emma. People believe that these wonderful and intricate stories reflect the Austin’s view of love and marriage from different aspects. This paper will analyze four stories in Emma with a few critical approaches to conclude author’s attitudes toward love and marriage. Furthermore, this paper will give some comparison between traditional and modern value on love and marriage and some personal understandings of the writer of this paper.
This essay falls into six parts. The first part is an introduction. The second part mainly describes four heroes and heroines’ love and marriage. The third part analyzes the author’s view on love and marriage. The fourth part primarily describes young person’s love and marriage in today’s society. The fifth part is my view on love and marriage. And the last part draws a conclusion.

摘要《爱玛》被认为是简奥斯丁751部小说中最成熟的作品,也是19世纪最有影响力的经典小说之一,其中爱情、婚姻、道德与阶级观念体现了作者及那个时代理性主义的思想。
婚恋观是《爱玛》作品中的主题,其中主要以四对男女主人公的爱情婚姻为主线。人们认为这些精彩、错综复杂、扣人心弦的故事从不同角度反映了作者简奥斯汀的婚恋观。本文将一些批评手法解读爱玛中的四段爱情故事,以总结奥斯汀的婚恋观。对比古今婚恋观的差异进一步给出本文作者就婚恋观的个人观点。
本篇论文共分为751部分。第一部分是介绍。第二部分主要介绍小说中四对男女主人公的爱情与婚姻。第三部分主要对作者的婚恋观进行分析。第四部分主要写当今社会中男女青年的婚恋观。第五部分是主要写我对于当今婚恋观的看法。第751部分是结论。
