Abstract
With the widespread development of information technology and the advancement of the society, the network deeply enters into our daily lives. Therefore more and more people are inclined to communicate their feelings, vent emotions and express ideas on the internet, by which a kind of internet language gradually comes into being. There are always some netizen who create some Internet buzzwords based on the characteristics of the society at that time every year, those words later remembered and widely used by the public in short time. Due to the popularity of the Internet buzzwords among the massive crowd, thus some translators who work for the subtitle translation of American TV series apply a lot of which into the translation work for increasing the audience rating.

Certainly not all of the Internet buzzwords are the essence, including some dregs ingredient among them. Therefore attitudes toward the application of Internet buzzwords in the subtitle translation of American TV series vary from person to person. Every coin has two sides, so do the Internet buzzwords. Whether it is beneficial or harmful to apply Internet buzzwords into the subtitle translation of American TV series largely depends on the translators which words they adopt. The study of this thesis mainly focuses on the Internet buzzwords in the translation of American TV sitcom 2 Broke Girls. By studying this sitcom to find the advantages and disadvantages of the application, thus the solutions are easy to figure out, which will be helpful to the work of subtitle translation in the future.

The paper falls into six parts. The first part serves as an introduction. The second part is about literature review. The third part aims at the application of Internet buzzwords in American TV series subtitle translation from the perspective of Skopostheorie. The fourth explodes the analysis of the application of IB from the perspective of Skopostheorie. The fifth part probes into case study. The sixth part functions as a conclusion.
