Contemporary researches on domestication mainly center around literary translation, but seldom on television or film translation, and none on late-night talk show translation. Even though there are some researches on television or film translation, many focus on subtitle translation or general translation strategies rather on domestication strategy. 

Thus, based on the fact that domestication is strongly needed to be discussed further and deeper, the thesis aims at the main feature and categorization of humor language in American late-night talk shows, tries to conclude different rules of application of domestication in different situations, and hopefully provides reference for late-night comedy show translators and researches.
