摘要动机是影响第二语言学习最重要的因素之一。国内外研究学者做了大量关于二语学习动机对语言学习所起作用的研究。 目前国内的二语学习动机研究大都是以本科生为调查对象,针对研究生的研究较少,但随着我国在校研究生人数的增多和教育形式的多样化,再把研究生和本科生当作同质群体来研究显然是不科学的,必需要对非英语专业研究生英语学习动机进行更深入的调查研究。
本文在前人研究的基础上,对30名南京理工大学非英语专业研究生进行了问卷调查。调查问卷参照高一虹的动机类型量表,根据理工科学校的实际情况进行了修改。
本文采用统计软件SPSS10.0对收集的数据进行了以下的分析:1)描述统计,旨在分析研究生的动机类型分布状况;2)独立样本t检验,探讨不同动机强度组学生在动机类型上有无差异。研究表明:
1. 研究生在英语学习中科研型动机体现最多,其次为内在兴趣、情景型、个人发展型、信息媒介型和成绩型动机。出国型体现的最少。
2. 高低强度组在内在兴趣、信息媒介型和出国型动机上差异显著。同时,两组均体现出以下结果:科研型、内在兴趣、情景型、出国型、个人发展型和信息媒介型动机越高,努力程度也越高;成绩型动机越高,努力程度反而越低。10230

Title An investigation on English Learning Motivation and Motivational Intensity of Non-English Major Postgraduates
Abstract
It has been universally considered that motivation is one of the key factors in success in developing second language (L2). For several decades, a great deal of researches have been conducted regarding L2 motivation at home and abroad. While most of the studies on English learning motivation in China have been carried out among undergraduates, few focus on that of postgraduates. However, with the rapid increase in the number of postgraduates, it is necessary to investigate postgraduates' L2 motivation separately.
Based on the previous researches, a questionnaire is carried out among 30 non-English major postgraduates from Nanjing University of Science & Technology to investigate their English learning motivation. The scales are designed according to the Motivation Type Scale by Gao Yihong (2003) and the characteristics of the university of Science and Technology.
The data were analyzed with the help of SPSS10.0, which includes descriptive statistics conducted to reveal the distribution of types of motivation and independent t-test to examine the differences of motivation types between the comparative motivational groups. The present study yields the following findings:
1. The mean score of scientific research is the highest while that of going abroad is the lowest. Between them, there are intrinsic interest, learning situation, inpidual development, information media and achievement.
2. There exist significant differences between high intensity group and low intensity group in intrinsic interest, information media and going abroad. And for both groups,six of the seven motivation subtypes correlate positively with motivation intensity, except the motivation of achievement.
