Title The design of public art——A case of NJUST Friendship Rive South Bank Landscape Design

Abstract

Nowadays, public art is showing a trend of full coverage in the city-cultural construction, however, accompanying the booming construction in full swing is not only its achievements, but also its problems. A series of problems, such as, how to strengthening public art interaction with the public, how to achieving humane care blending with the natural environment, how to reconciling conflict between traditional art and modern aesthetic and so on, are causing more and more insiders’ attentions. This article is unfolding from the practical case of public art in the use of campus landscape, conducting in-depth study by learning from other successful cases to coordinate public art with people, buildings and places in a new vision. By learning the school historical context, local culture and places function, that make public art enter campus landscape in a unique way which making it as an appropriate symbolic language to convey human spirits of campus.
