2.1.3 The current situation of English grammar teaching in China
Function-oriented textbook took the place of structure-oriented one in junior high school throughout the whole country in 1996, Which is a great transformation in China. Profound changes and substantial progress can be seen in applying CLT in teaching practice. But some problems still exist, such as grammar teaching. Despite its success in developing highly functional skills in learners, it hasn’t conduced to corresponding accuracy in production (Skehan, 2002).
