2 Previous Studies
2.1 Previous Studies on The Big Bang TheoryIn the recent one or two years, a lot of researches centered on the Big Bang Theory, especiallyon the humor mechanism of it. Among the studies of the scientific discourses and the dailydiscourses of the lines, most of them start from the perspectives of Cooperative Principle andRelevance Theory. For example, Li Qing, Shi Xiaoling(2013), Guo Huixiang(2013) both pointedout that Cooperative Principle has been applied in The Big Bang Theory. They propose that the CPwas used in the sitcom to break the coherence to produce bursting points. According to the data, itcan be found that about 65.6% of the bursting points are derived from breaking the CP. And MaYuanxing(2013) thinks that the fractures between intentions of information and communication, themaximal relevance and the optimal relevance, different cognitive contexts can contribute to verbalhumor. What’s more, she also proposes that these factors are not separated but complementary. InThe Big Bang Theory, it is just the more efforts the audience have made on the comprehending thewhole context than they have spent on the common discourses that makes the audience feelhumorous.2.2 Previous Studies on Bakthin’s Dialogue TheoryAs the connection between the literary works and different cultures, Bakthin theory has beenthe major concerns of many scholars.
