The collected articles were categorized in total into four themes: the background information of MOOCs including origin, advantages and types of MOOCs; MOOCs in China including general development in China and government’s attitude towards it; intrinsic and extrinsic motivations including learners’ motives for learning MOOCs and instructors’ motives for offering MOOCs.
