Religion has placed a lasting influence on people's life through human history. Both western and eastern people have religious beliefs that are part of their respective cultures. For most western visitors, they maybe not familiar with Chinese culture, therefore with the development of domestic tourist trade, more and more materials concerning it need to be translated into English. In order to make successful versions, translators should make some necessary and proper explanation on discrepancies of religion and custom when translating the introduction of tourist attractions.

The influence of religious and customary differences is quite common, for every country or ethnic has its own particular culture which is different from that of other countries. Chinese people are accustomed to thinking in direct way, but many westerners intend to make reverse thinking.
