Abstract Dan Brown, an American thriller fiction author, is best known for the 2003 bestselling novel The Da Vinci Code. His novels are treasure hunts set in a 24-hour period, and feature the recurring themes of cryptography, keys, symbols, codes, and conspiracy theories. Dan Brown’s characters, whether evil or not, are always full of toughness and marked with a positive spirit. 

The Lost Symbol, the latest stunning follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, again presents a decoding novel, a deadly race through a real-world labyrinth of codes, secrets, and unseen truths. With elements of religion, science, and symbols, it exposes to readers the essence of human nature. On the one hand, it shows the cruelty of humanity. On the other, it demonstrates the warmth of humanity. Seemingly absurd in plot, the novel revolves around a game of human nature.68797

Aimed at analyzing the game of human nature, this paper probes into the personality and behavior differences between the protagonist, villain and other characters when they are faced with tough choices.
