摘 要成语是中国语言的精华,是汉语文化中最具有特色的部分。翻译是人类借助语际转换实现有效交际的重要手段,其重要性随着跨文化交际的发展愈发突显。然而,由于文化的不同造成翻译的障碍,使得成语的翻译成为汉语翻译中最难的部分。因此,越来越多的学者会在跨文化交流的基础上研究中国四字成语的翻译。本文在跨文化交际下视角下来研究汉语成语的翻译,希望通过灵活运用翻译方法,跨越文化障碍,认识文化差异,使汉语翻译为读者所接受,使得汉语成语的翻译更准确恰当。9254

Abstract
Chinese four-character phrases are the cream of the language and the most valuable part of Chinese culture. Translation is a significant communicative means by which people fulfill the switch of language. With the development of cross-culture communication, the significance of translation outstands. However, owing to the cultural barriers caused by cultural differences, Chinese four-character phrases translation becomes the most difficult part of Chinese translation. So, lots of translators carry on their translation studies under the sight of cross-cultural communication. This paper discusses the Chinese four-character phrases translation from the perspective of cross-cultural communication, intending to adopt the flexible methods and overcome cultural barriers to make the Chinese four-character phrases translation be more accurate.

I. Introduction
With the development and prosperity of China, Chinese language has attracted more and more world’s attention. Until now, China has set up hundreds of Confucius Institutes. What’s more, fans of Chinese language all over the world are numerous and keep increasing with each passing day. Language is the carrier of culture. Chinese four-character phrases, with their colorfulness, forcefulness, fantasy, terseness and richness, which exist in almost every language and can present the unique features of a language, the people and the culture as which are also the best manifestation of a language, are also an important part of Chinese. Chinese four-character phrases are abundant in Chinese. Therefore, mastering these Chinese four-character phrases and using them in a proper way is a symbol of high competence and good command of Chinese, however, it is hard even for the native speaks to use the freely, let alone foreigners. As the translation of Chinese four-character phrases involves different and complicated elements such as culture, history, religion and geographical locations, it is tough task to render them into proper and idiomatic English. What’s more, the translation of Chinese four-character phrases has not caught enough attention and concern. Till now, a lot of studies focus on the origin, history and characteristics of Chinese four-character phrases, but few researchers have embarked on the area of how to make foreigners better understand Chinese four-character phrases.
