引言
纹样是装饰花纹的总称，又称“花纹”、“花样”，也有泛称“纹饰”或“图案”。传统纹样在通常意义上，也称“古典纹样”，指世代相传的纹样造型。我国纹样的历史十分悠久，在花卉纹样成为传统装饰的主角之前，纹样传统纹样题材的发展还经历了几何纹时期、动物纹时期。那主要是由于生产力的发展决定的。花卉纹样“成大器”大概是从隋唐开始，至清末时期。花卉纹样的应用，标志着人的觉醒，摆脱了天或神的精神束缚，人们开始认识自我并追求自我；把自然植物当做自己欣赏的对象，以满足生活的需要；改变欣赏的观念，把欣赏提到了重要的地位。
