Dignified as the horses were supposed to be, they were widely used in the war, tamed and manipulated by people to get engaged in the blood-shedding warfare; therefore the horse was cast as impulsive and foolhardy in Aesop’s Fables.
2.3 The Neutral Images
In Aesop’s Fables, there are lots of animals that are quite complex in their character. They may be commendable in one fable, yet despicable in another. Actually there are more of such animal characters in Aesop’s Fables than the number of the other two categories combined.
