摘 要语块是英语中一种特殊的多词汇现象，它是介于传统的词汇和语法之间，通常是可预测、固定且便于学习者的学习。本文对以下问题进行研究：1.语块有助于构建商务英语信函的框架，使篇章连接紧密；2. 在按照形式分类的四种语块中，句型框架语块出现的频率最高，依次是短语限制语块，多词词汇和惯用表达式；3.语块能使学生更好的习得词汇，应用正确的语域，使写作更流畅。通过本文研究发现，语块对于商务英语信函写作学习也是极其重要的，语块的教学应当贯穿语言的教学之中。10451

Abstract
Lexical chunk is a special multi-word phenomenon and it lies between traditional words and grammar. It is predictable and fixed so it is beneficial for learners. This paper studies the following issues: first, lexical chunks can help learners organize and construct the structure of English business letters. Second, the number of sentence builder is the biggest, followed by phrasal constraints, poly-words and institutionalized expressions. Finally, lexical chunk can facilitate memorization of vocabulary,avoid inappropriate use in terms of register and enhance writing fluency. Through the study, it is found lexical chunks play an extremely important part in language learning so that lexical approach should be applied to language teaching.

I. Introduction
With the development of China’s international trade and the increase of the other economic activities, business communication has attracted more and more attention in China. Under this circumstance, knowing how to write an appropriate English business letter is very important. Language teaching has traditionally viewed grammar and vocabulary as a tool, with the former category consisting of structures and the latter usually consisting of single words. “Vocabulary being seen as less important, merely serving to show the meaning and scope of the grammar. ” (Sinclair 78). During the past 40 years, the major concern of those linguists is syntax .Meanwhile, grammar-based approach which is the another aspect of lexical chunks has been paid attention. Under the grammar-based approach, learners are competent at applying grammatical rules into accurate use of language. At the same time, teachers realize that it is time to concentrate on appropriate use of language, but focusing too much on language performance leads to inaccurate use of language.
