      In the following, the thesis is explained in detail. Chapter 2 introduces the Benes
    network composed with DPDT and looping algorithm for  16-input/16-output  Benes
    network. Chapter 3 introduces the looping algorithm modified for 12-input/12-output
    Benes network that is an example arbitrary size Benes network. In this chapter, another
    algorithm for 12-input/12-output  Benes network  is put up with as well. And a
    comparison between the two algorithms is made. Chapter 4 introduces how to realize the
    algorithm for 16-input/16-output Benes networks and 12-input/12-output Benes network
    using Matlab and its GUI. Chapter 5 introduces the necessary and method of designing
    the layout for the complete DC control network. What’s more, the software is examined
    in this chapter as well. Finally, Chapter 6 introduces how to realize the layout  for the
    complete DC control network  using Advanced Design System (ADS). Chapter 7
    introduces how to modify the Matlab program in chapter 4, so that we can control the
    switches. In the appendix, the Matlab program is provided. 2 Looping Algorithm for 16×16 Benes Network
    2.1 Benes network
      A multistage network consists of more than one stage of switching elements and is
    classified as followed.
      Blocking network: In this type of networks, simultaneous connection of more than
    one input-output terminal pair might result in conflicts in the use of other network
    communication links.  
      Nonblocking networks in the strict sense: In this type of networks, no matter in
    what state the network may be, it is always possible to connect an idle pair of
    terminals without disturbing the existing links.  
      Nonblocking networks in the wide sense: In this type, the network does have
    blocking state.  However, it is possible that by suitably choosing routes one can
    confine the trajectory of the operating system to nonblocking states. That is, there
    exists a rule which can be used to put new links while  avoiding all the blocking
    states, so that the system effectively becomes nonblocking. The rule only affects the
    new links that could be put into the network in more than one way. No link already
    in progress is to be disturbed.
      Rearrangeable networks: If for any set of given links in progress and any pair of
    idle terminals, the existing links can be reassigned new routes (if necessary) such
    that it becomes possible to connect the idle pair, the network is called rearrangeable.
      Benes network is a rearrangeable nonblocking network which can realize any arbitrary
    permutation  [9]. Overall, the � -  dimensional Benes network connects 2
