摘要本文通过自建的小型网球英语新闻标题语料库，运用语料库语言学的方法对语料库的词汇特征、句法特征和修辞手法进行了分析，发现网球英语新闻标题的用词变化比较高，基本每个标题中都包含有球员名字或比赛名称，并常通过使用缩略语、专有名词和技术术语、外来词、新造词、省略、多种表达胜负的方式以及暗喻、双关、夸张、借代以及押韵等修辞手法来丰富新闻标题的描写。希望可以通过本文揭示网球英语新闻标题的部分规则，提高相关人员的语言交流能力。67672

Title Features of Online English Tennis News Headlines-An Analysis Based on Self-built Corpus
Abstract
This paper analyzes the vocabulary and syntactic features and rhetoric of online English tennis news headlines on the basis of self-built corpus with methods of corpus linguistics. We find that change of words in the headlines is very high and name of plays or places appears in nearly every headline. It uses many skills to enrich the description of headlines, including abbreviation, proper noun and technical terms, loanwords, coinage, ellipsis and rhetoric, etc. So the study is made to summarize some rules of the English language for tennis and to help improve the language users' ability to communicate with people.

1 Introduction
Li Na, Zheng Jie and many other Chinese tennis players have achieved so many breakthroughs in the international stage and tennis is hitting China now! People are hungering for more tennis knowledge and live news. Many fans are browsing the English official website directly to obtain timely information and live tennis news. Title, as the essence of the news and guidance for people's reading, makes a difference in its wording and phrasing. This paper adopts the research methods of corpus linguistics and lists the overall characteristics of English tennis news headlines, which not only has some pragmatic value, but also is conducive to the understanding and the spread of tennis knowledge.
2 Literature Review
2.1 Previous Studies
Many domestic experts have studied English news headlines from different aspects and also in different fields. Some study the translation skills of the headlines, including “literal translation, free translation, epexegesis and omission”, etc. (Zhang Chong, 2010: 77-79) and “translation of figures of speech in headlines from the perspective of functional equivalence” (Wang Xiao, Huang Chunlan, 2009：92-94) and journalism (Hao Shukai, 2003:229-231). Some analyze characteristics of language and culture of the headline ( Zhou Jie, 2008：90-101). Besides, some study “features of English entertainment news headlines”（Liu Fenglin, 2004：169-172）and sports(Xing Lina, Zhao Haijun, 2011:34-37 ).
Although there are numerous studies on English news headlines, they usually adopt methods of quantitative and intuitive comparison, which is original and has a low reliability due to errors. Only a few studies have analyzed online headlines with methods of corpus linguistics, including “feature analysis of English NBA news headlines” (Tao Xuecheng, Zhang Ping, 2010:45-56) and “online English sports news headlines” (Yu Yang, 2010: 151-154).来~自^751论+文.网www.751com.cn/
