    摘要依据《中学新课程标准》和当代中学生的需求,中学英语教学总体目标在于培养学生综合运用英语的能力,即英语交际能力,并以此促进学生听、说、读、写等技能的全面提高。然而,传统的英语教学偏重语言知识的讲解和语法分析,忽视听、说、读、写基本技能的综合培养。因此,改革英语教学方法,提高英语教学质量是值得研究的课题。在中学英语教学中,综合技能教学法不仅是一种教学方法,更是教学的主要目标,它把听、说、读、写四个技能有效地结合起来,让学生在运用中学英语,以此激发学生学习兴趣,优化英语课堂教学,从而全面提高学生的综合技能。

    Abstract
    According to the New English Criterion of Middle School and the demands of contemporary students, the overall goal of English teaching is to cultivate the students’ comprehensive ability of using English (i.e. the communicative competence), which will promote students’ all-round improvement of the listening, speaking, reading, writing and other skills. However, the traditional English teaching emphasizes the explanation of language knowledge and the analysis of English grammar, and ignores the integrated training of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Therefore, to improve English teaching quality, the reform of English teaching approach is a worthy topic of study. In middle school English teaching, the Integrated-Skill Approach is not only a method but also a main aim of teaching. It makes students learn English in application by effectively integrating listening, speaking, reading and writing. As a result, the Integrated-Skill Approach will arouse students’ interest and optimize the English teaching. Moreover, it will enhance students’ comprehensive skills.

    I. Introduction

    With the rapid development of globalization, English is becoming more and more important and popular, especially for the integrated skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing of English in all walks of life. The Integrated-Skill Approach has been widely accepted and used in English teaching, and it helps to optimize English teaching and arouse students’ interest. What’s more, it will improve students’ comprehensive skills and realize the function of English in the communication.
    In recent years, some approaches of English teaching have known the Integrated-Skill Approach — listening, speaking, reading and writing. It contains the Integrated-Whole Language Approach, the Integrated-Skill Approach and other ones. Although these approaches may be overlapped, all the activities in these approaches are relevant to the various kinds of language skills improvement. At the same time, all these approaches promote integrated skills. In addition, Wang Qiang (229) considers the Integrated-Skill Approach means that you are working at the level of realistic communication, not just at the level of vocabulary and sentence patterns. And it is essential in developing students’ competence to English teaching.
