    Abstract The interest is known as a key to being motivated to learn in a language. Stimulating students’ interest in learning English is an important task for primary school English teaching. Whether the students can learn English effectively or not, it cannot succeed without right teaching methods. And for children, teaching game is the most efficient and acceptable way. This paper explains the related concepts of game teaching. It points out the types of game, the roles of game and the common problems existing in the game. In addition, this paper also puts forward the principles and steps and the related points for attention. 62103

    In this paper, teachers should base on the age characteristics and learning levels of different students, and according to the characteristics of different type of courses, carefully design the effective classroom games, so as to optimize the classroom teaching.

    摘要兴趣是学好语言的关键,激发学生学习英语的兴趣是小学阶段英语教学的一项重要任务。小学生学习英语是否有成效,离不开正确的教学方法。对于孩子们来说,游戏教学便是最有效,最乐于接受的教学方法之一。本文解释了游戏教学的相关概念.提出来课堂游戏的类型,课堂游戏扮演的角色以及课堂游戏中普遍存在的问题。此外,本文还提出来课堂游戏应该遵循的原则和课堂游戏的步骤等相关注意点。本文提出,教师应该根据学生不同的年龄特征和学习程度,并根据不同的课型特点,精心设计有效的课堂游戏,从而优化课堂教学。

    1. Introduction 

    When there exists classroom discipline problems in a class, teachers generally accuse unruly students of disrupting the class. However, they should know the fundamental reason for being unmotivated for the lesson is that teachers failed to attract students’ attention. Teachers must raise awareness of what they expect from children to do in their classes. They always expect them to be quiet, to sit on desks in rows without moving around and to listen carefully. But these expectations cannot be realized because kids are so energetic and naughty in our classes. So it is difficult to keep it throughout the whole class. Teachers need to be sure that they are teaching their lessons by taking students’ characteristics into consideration and their immediate needs such as enjoying themselves in the classroom. Then the teacher should have the ability to design different effective activities that children enjoy to attract their attention.  That is to say teacher should use games in English teaching classroom. Modern pedagogy has taken games as one of the most important teaching means which can transfer knowledge, develop skills and ability in languages teaching. More and more attention has been paid to games. In this thesis, I want to discuss this good way to arouse children’s interest in English learning that could make students keep physical and psychological health.文献综述
