    摘要在城市,英语教育己被家长与学生所接受,在农村,英语教育却不甚理想与城市相距甚大。当前农村中学英语教育的现状及存在着问题,这些问题包括教育观念落后、教学设施落后、师资力量薄弱、英语接触环境较少等,本文结合英语教育的实际情况,分析其形成原因,探索性地提出了改变农村中学英语教育现状的一些对策:只有不断改善农村学校的办学条件,加强师资队伍建设,从教学环境、教学方法、教师等方面提高英语教育的整体水平,促进城乡教育资源共享,才能使农村中学英语教育摆脱困境,适应新形势对农村中学英语教育的要求。23797

    Abstract
     In the urban area, English education has become an important part of junior and senior education. However, in the most of undeveloped regions in China English education did not arouse as that much attention as it should be. There are severe differences between the level of English education in the rural and the urban. The status of rural English education,  falling behind the education strategy (concept), lacking of necessary utilities teaching resources as well as English speaking background, all of these, have made English education hard on its step moving forward. This paper analyzes the actual circumstances and some of their causes in the English education in rural areas. Based on these points,we could take effective measures, which from teaching environment, teaching methods, teachers and students, to improve the English education in undeveloped rural areas.

    I. Introduction 

    The twenty-first century is the era of knowledge and information. The competition of national strength means the competition of knowledge and talents. With more communication opportunities between countries, English has became more important unprecedentedly. Thus, we have to give children good English formative education. However, currently the teaching facilities, the conditions of teachers and students of our majority rural middle schools that all exist great problems. “In China, rural population makes up 80% of the country’s, and the rural junior school students almost accounts for 2/3 of overall national junior school students”. (Furlong (12): 1) The development of rural English basic education plays a significant role in comprehensive quality improvement for Chinese population. But due to the regional differences in China, there is a severe imbalance of education development among these regions.
