摘要英语作为国际通用语在现代信息社会具有重要作用,且它被列为高考考核科目之一。而在英语教学中,阅读教学是占了很大比重的薄弱环节。本文在参考国内外英语阅读教学法及英语阅读教学模式的基础上,从新课改背景下的普通高中英语课程标准的八项课程要求入手,以浙江省某中学的高二学生为例,从学生角度设计相应的调查问卷,分析目前英语阅读教学存在的问题,然后根据问题提出相应的教学建议,以优化课堂教学并提高高中学生的英语阅读水平。32972

Title The Teaching Model of English Reading in Senior High School under the Background of New Curriculum Reform
Abstract
English as the most significant international language in the modern information society has played an important role, and it has been listed as one of the college entrance examination subjects. In English teaching, reading teaching is the weak link which accounts for a large proportion. This paper is based on the domestic and foreign English reading teaching method and the teaching model of English reading. It starts from the eight requirements of the “New Curriculum Standards for Middle School English Teaching” and designs questionnaire whose investigation object is students of grade two in senior high school in Zhejiang province to analyze the existed reading teaching problems, then puts forward the corresponding teaching suggestions to optimize the class teaching and improve students' English reading level.

1 Introduction
1.1 Background and Purpose of the Paper
In order to change the situation of overemphasis on vocabulary and grammar and the phenomenon of rote in English teaching, in order to cultivate students’ actual language using ability, the government issued the “New Curriculum Standards for Middle School English Teaching” in 2003. The New Curriculum Standards put the quality education and the humanistic education into English teaching, which is for all students. There is no doubt that the New Curriculum Standards add more difficulties to original English teaching model. “For many students, reading is by far the most important of the four skills in a second language, particular in English a second or foreign language”(Carrell, et al., 1989, p. 1). Reading occupies a significant position in the four English basic skills(listening, speaking, reading, writing). It is no exaggeration to say that English learning is largely through reading. Since English reading is so essential, the paper focuses on the New Curriculum standards, how to improve students’ English reading level by studying the advantages and disadvantages of different English teaching methodology, as well as the actual situation of English reading teaching between teachers and students in senior high school.

Chapter one begins with the introduction which briefly talks about the background, the reason why studies senior high school English reading and the structure of the paper.
