摘要我们生活在五彩缤纷的世界里,颜色与我们的生活紧密相关,对颜色的了解是我们最基本的认知范畴之一。不同民族和地区对颜色的认知有很多共同之处,但是由于各个地方的文化习俗,地理位置,历史传统,宗教信仰,民族心理,思维习惯等方面的差异,不同的文化表达颜色的词汇数量又有很大的差别,而且颜色词汇表现出各自的独特的“个性”,并带有明显的文化烙印。多种多样的颜色词的中文及英文的内涵具有很多的不同之处,人们已经逐渐认识到具有深刻文化内涵的颜色词已经成为文化交际中的一个障碍,因此研究英语和汉语颜色词的文化内涵具有一定的现实意义。48816

Abstract We live in a colorful world, and we are closely connected with color words. The realization of colors is one of the basic cognitive fields, there are also a lot of colors in common even though different languages have their own color words to express colors. However, owing to the different geographic conditions, national customs, histories, politics, economy and national psychology, color words are in the different expression during the translating from one language to another. They all have their own cultural features. Although there are plenty of common color words both in Chinese and English, their meanings are quite different. People have realized that color words have become a barrier in cross-cultural communication on account of the persities of their cultural meanings. Hence, a contrastive study on cultural connotations of color words between English and Chinese is of great significance.
