1. Introduction
With the development of the fast-paced life and the so-called “information age”, both young male and female are too busy to make friends in reality. At the same time, Blind date has broken through the traditional “introduction” mode, the way young people used for dating are changing constantly. With the help of mass media, as a new form, television dating programs become so popular in our daily life, among which are two representative TV programs: “T” and “I”, after the silence of several years, dating programs make a comeback and become more and more popular in our daily life.
Family is the basic component of the society, husband and wife are the main elements of a family. The marriage tie is the longest and closest relationship in the interpersonal relationship. Every nation has its unique marriage ideas and wedding customs because of different history, living environments, difference of social values and so on. Compared with Chinese more than 5000 years of history, United States just completed his journey about 200 years; it is no wonder that these two countries have the quite different personalities. On the whole, American society focuses on the freedom and inpidual rights, while Chinese pay more attention to the whole family as well as more external factors. So relatively, the marriage value between China and America will be of great difference, which will be seen from the program “T” and “I”, and now let us do some researches on love and marriage concepts through these TV programs.

First, introducing the literature review to the two TV programs and main different guests’ performance in two programs, which served as the factual basis to the thesis. Second, historical factors concerning differences in two countries, including the difference in economical aspect, living environment, the differences of social values as well as inpidualism and collectivism summarized from the TV programs. Third, from the realistic point of view, there are several realistic differences summarized from the TV programs. They are different core values revealed from two TV programs, differences in the purposes of getting married, different concepts towards love and sex as well as different etiquette systems. Fourth, the fourth part is the last part, that is the conclusion of the whole thesis.
2.Literature Review
As we all know, marriage is the eternal topic for human beings. From ancient times, because of different historical backgrounds, different living environment, different culture, there exists different values towards love and marriage in marriage. In fact, lots of scholars and men of letters have made researches on these topics. Most of them are focusing on the differences from historical or cultural backgrounds. For example, professor Gui Jiayun, in her masterpiece A Comparative Study of the Family and Marriage, she made lots of analysis of love and marriage values based on different cultures. Luo Yuchuan, a professor in Southwest Normal University, in his work: The Changes of Marriage View from Late 20th Century, showing us the main characteristics of such changes. Oriental Impressions by a Western Artist, written by Louise Jordan Miln, telling us something about Chinese wedding from the historical angle. What’s more, in Francine Prose’s My New American Life, it portrays people of different races and backgrounds how to live in America, even live in the same roof. Each sentence, each event and each scene is funny and vivid, and it also arouses people’s sense of loyalty, race, polity, love and marriage. But what I want to introduce to you is from a quiet different view, that is based on a more vivid media: TV show. Both “If you Are the One” and “Take Me Out” are two representative dating programs to provide a platform for young man and woman. It has aroused great public response recently. 文献综述
