Abstract In contemporary China, high school students are under great pressure of the entrance examination. Because of being unable to correctly handle stress, they have anxiety over their own learning subjects. This paper uses the data method and the experimental method to analyze the causes of high school students’ learning anxiety and puts forward some advice on how to relieve anxiety. Hopefully this paper will help high school students find out the problems in their English learning and improve their learning efficiency with some countermeasures so that they can get good grades.

In modern society, high school students are under great pressure. They study hard for many reasons. Some of them study hard just to pass the entrance exam. A few students work hard in order to get a good job in the future. But they have anxiety over English study. Many experts do some research on it. In traditional foreign language teaching mode, people used to discuss the cognitive factors of language learners rather than stress the study of their emotional factors. However, in the process of foreign language learning, language learners are easily affected by their own emotional factors. Therefore, the study of emotional factors is necessary.
In the early 1920s, the western humanistic psychologists and educationalists put forward an idea that emotion and cognition are the important goals and contents of education. In the 1970s, language education experts paid attention to the influence of emotional factors on language learning. In combination with the relevant theories of psychology and sociology research, American psychological linguist Krashen did some in-depth study of emotion and summed up five hypotheses. Among them, the Affective Filter Hypothesis pointed out that anxiety is one of the main obstacles of mood disorders. Anxiety, motivation, personality and emotional factors such as interest greatly affect the efficiency of language acquisition though they can’t change the way of the second language acquisition.^源^自#751:文,论:文;网[www.751com.cn
