    The Influence of Bilingual Teaching on the Development of Students’ Language Ability

    Chapter one Introduction

    1.1 Backgrounds

    With the globalization of the word economy, English, as an international language, plays an important role in international communication, so all the countries in the world have been strengthening the English teaching by the way of “bilingual education”. At present the bilingual experiment in our country is to conform to the international trend, and is the concrete embodiment of the international education. Bilingual teachers take on the dual task: subject content and foreign language.     1.2 Significance and purpose

    Today, with the fierce competition among different countries, languages and words play a growing role in the development process of economy and society.  “Bilingual” is the natural phenomenon in the development of human beings. It is impossible for any countries, regions and nations to communication with the surrounding countries. “Bilingual” will be the first demand when they communicate. Promoting bilingual teaching plays an important role in the development of technology and economy for a country, a region or a nation. 

    There is a very clear direction of “Bilingual Education Reform”, but the implementation of bilingual education is a gradual and long process. In this process, we must adhere to relevant principles, such as following the law, respecting the will and creating the conditions actively,,源)自(751+文=论]文]网[www.751com.cn etc. We should make full use of the best stage of learning language in the early childhood, and strengthen the teaching of Chinese and English. According to the actual situation in different regions of our country, under the condition of following the laws of education, teaching and learning, also adopting and respecting fully the views and suggestions of students and parents, we should promote gradually “Bilingual Education Reform” and the development of bilingual teaching in our country. At the same time, we should continually strengthen the bilingual teaching of primary schools, improve the teaching conditions, and eventually promote the quality of education.

    In fact, the most important starting point for the implementation of bilingual teaching in China is to improve primary schools students’ English level and foster their English ability, so as to meet the needs of the future development of the economy and society eventually.
