    摘要长期以来,初中英语教学一直强调语言内部结构的认知,注重词汇、短语、语法等知识的教学,忽视了背景文化知识的导入,致使学生学习英语后常因不了解中西文化差异在交际中出现很多语用错误。因此,针对当前初中英语的教学现状,本文旨在探讨跨文化教育在初中英语教学中的必要性。文章首先介绍了初中英语的教学现状以及在初中英语教学中实施跨文化教育的意义,其次重点分析了初中英语课堂中实施跨文化教育的方法,最后呼吁广大教师在英语教学中适时的导入英语文化,为培养高素质的英语人才打下良好的基础。7529

    Abstract For a long time, Junior Middle English teaching has been focusing on the cognition of the inner structure of the language, such as words, phrases and grammars instead of the introduction of the cultural background information. Therefore, Students often make lots of mistakes in the communication due to the lack of knowledge of the Chinese and Western culture. This paper aims at exploring the significance of carrying out the intercultural education in the Junior Middle School English teaching. Firstly it introduces the current situation and significance of the intercultural education in the Junior Middle English teaching. And then it focuses on the methods to implement intercultural education. At last the author advocates the introduction of the English culture in the Junior Middle School English teaching to lay a sound foundation for fostering excellent English talents.

    I. Introduction

    The new English Course Standards points out that the general goal of all English course at the elementary education stage is “to cultivate students” manifold abilities of applying language. Its forming is to built upon the students’ language skills, language knowledge, affective education, learning tactics and cultural-awareness. Undoubtedly the cultural teaching plays a very important role in junior middle school English teaching today. Language teaching should not be limited simply to linguistic performance, but should include some understanding of the culture of its native speakers If we teach English without teaching the culture of English-speaking countries, our students can only learn something mechanical and they cannot use it freely and properly. That is to say, they cannot possess communicative competence.
