摘 要近年来,随着新课程改革的推行,任务型教学法在初中英语课堂中得到普遍实施并且日益成为初中英语课堂教学研究的焦点。本文首先简要介绍了几种传统的教学方法,以突显任务型教学法的优势。接着采用定量与定性的研究方法深入剖析任务型教学法的实行过程、原则以及对培养初中生英语学习动机的影响。本论文的研究表明任务型教学法对培养初中生英语学习动机有着重大影响,同时本论文还揭示了在初中英语课堂推广任务型教学法的重要性与必要性。32145

In recent years, with the implementation of the reform of the curriculum standards, Task-based Language Teaching has been implemented universally in middle school English class. In addition, Task-based Language Teaching has already become the study focus of English language teaching. Firstly, this thesis briefly introduces several kinds of traditional teaching methods and then proposes advantages of Task-based Language Teaching. And then this thesis mainly adopts qualitative and quantitative approaches to thoroughly studying the procedures, principles as well as the impact of Task-based Language Teaching on the cultivation of middle school students’ English learning motivation. What’s more, this paper clearly exposes the huge impact of Task-based Language Teaching on the cultivation of middle school students’ English learning motivation and the significance as well as the necessity of popularizing Task-based Language Teaching in middle school English classes.

A Study on the Influence of Task-based Language Teaching on Cultivating Middle School Students’ English Learning Motivation
I. Introduction
Task-based Language Teaching is a language teaching approach which appeared in the 1980s in India and was proposed by a famous scholar Prabuu. It is a product of processing syllabus. Prabhu’s study is a tentative experiment, putting forward a learning-centered teaching mode, namely, language learning should not put emphasis not only on the language form, but also on the learning processes and the meanings of language (Prabhu 74). He pides the learning tasks into three categories: information-gap activity, reasoning-gap activity and also opinion-gap activity. In terms of practical teaching,he puts task-based learning model into three stages:pre-task,task and feedback. At the time, Prabhu’s teaching had a great impact on the field of foreign language teaching. But there are also many defects. Despite this, as a pioneer of task-based learning in foreign language teaching, he made a bold attempt, and also laid a good foundation for later researches of task-based learning and teaching (Fu 4). New English Curriculum Standards (2003) announce clearly that primary and Middle English courses emphasize on the development of students’ integrated language competence and these standards aim at students’ interest, participant, cooperation, life experience, practice, and communication. Besides, the standards suggest that teachers should adopt the method of Task-based Language Teaching to promote students’ cross-culture consciousness and the ability of studying independently. In addition, one of the most important reforms of the basic education curriculum is to change students’ learning approach. (Li 2)
