The history of the Task-based Approach has been more than twenty years in the west. However, the development of it in our country is still in the exploratory stage. In 1998, Prof. Xia Jimei and her colleagues published a paper entitled “the comparison between the theoretical basis of the Problem Teaching Method and the Task-based Approach and their modes”, which introduced and analyzed the concept of the task-based teaching (Xia Jimei & Kong Xian, 1998:3). In terms of teaching practice, someone has proposed the“Task- driven Approach”, who also introduced the structure and the practical use of this teaching mode. In 2002, the seven tasks of primary school classroom teaching came into being. Afterwards some professor put forward the listening skills and teaching principles of task-based listening on the basis of analyzing the cases of listening teaching in high school. Despite the fact that the Task-based Approach has a long history in the west and has become more and more popular in our country, it also has some possibilities to develop in some aspects. For instance, there is little research on the Task-based Approach and its application in teaching design about English writing in classroom teaching in senior high school, especially research on the design of teaching tasks in writing class is extremely few. So this thesis will give a brief introduction to the design of teaching tasks in writing class and the writer hope will do a little contribution to the former research.
