Abstract In college English teaching and learning, reading is one of the most important parts. It is increasingly becoming an important means for college students to get information. Meanwhile, recent studies suggest that affective factors have a significant impact on college English reading. However, we have been overemphasizing the importance of students’ cognition factors in the learning process, while ignoring the function of affective factors in the past few years. In fact, affective factors, such as motivation, anxiety, personality, attitude and self-esteem, are the vital factors in English reading process, which would affect college students’ reading habit and studying purpose If we fully recognize the significance of the affective factors and use every possible means to make use of them, we can, to some extent, stimulate students’ interests and arouse their positive emotions in English learning so as to achieve the teaching aims and improve the learning effect.10545
This paper aims to analyze the influence from affective factors in college English reading. Beginning with a brief introduction, the paper clarifies the concepts of affective factors and relevant studies both home and abroad. And then it is followed by an analysis of Chinese learner’s affective factors in college English reading from the perspective of interest, motivation, and anxiety. To get a better understanding of affective factors, questionnaire survey is used on 106 college students. Finally, the enlightenment is put forward by data analysis to promote the learners’ reading ability.

摘要
在大学英语教学中,阅读一直是重要的内容之一。它逐渐成为大学生获取信息的重要手段。在阅读的过程中,情感因素起到了非常重要的作用。过去几年,我们过分的强调了认知因素在学习过程中的重要性,从而忽略了情感因素的作用。事实上,大学生英语阅读的目的和行为很大程度上受社会因素和学习者情感的影响。情感因素包括动机、焦虑、性格、态度和自信心。若我们能够充分的认识到这些情感因素的重要性,并良好运用它们,我们就能够增添学生的兴趣及激发它们在英语学习中的积极情感,以达到良好的教学目的和学习效果。
本文旨在分析大学情感因素对大学生英语阅读的影响。简要介绍研究背景,文章阐述了情感因素及其相关中外理论,然后从兴趣,激励,焦虑等角度具体分析了情感因素对中国大学生英语阅读的影响。为了能够准确的了解如今困扰大学生英语阅读的情感因素以及提出相应的解决方案,本文对106位大学生进行了调查问卷。并对调查问卷进行了研究分析,提出教学建议,以促进学生的阅读能力。
