Abstract With an improved competitiveness ranking in the globe,China has gained more and more attention from the outside world. As the international financial and cultural center, Shanghai attracted more and more foreign tourists. Under this circumstance, well-translated tourism texts about Shanghai are badly needed in order to achieve good cultural communication.
Tourism translation is a kind of communicative occurrence, among which what counts is not isolated words and sentences, but text constituted by them. The communicative function of words and sentences can only be realized by text. Therefore, the application of theories of textual analysis to tourism translation studies will help the realization of equivalence at textual level and the close communicative effect. This paper aims at the exploration of the translation of introduction to scenery spots in Shanghai from a textual perspective.
This paper falls into five parts. Part one serves as an introduction. Part two is the theoretical basis of the tourism translation. Part three is aiming at the application of textual analysis in tourism translation. In Part four, some translating strategies are offered. The last part, Part five, is a conclusion.

摘要随着中国在世界的竞争排名不断上升,中国受到越来越多的外界关注。作为国际金融中心和文化中心的上海也吸引着越来越多的国际游客。因此,为了更好地进行文化交流,良好的上海旅游景点翻译文本显得尤为重要。
旅游翻译是交流的媒介,重要的不是独立的词句而是整个语篇。只有语篇才能达到词句间交流的功效。因此,将语篇分析理论应用到旅游翻译中有助于实现语义的对等和更密切交流的效果。本文旨在从语篇分析的角度探讨上海旅游景点的翻译。10532

1 Introduction
With an improved competitiveness ranking in the globe,China has gained more and more attention from the outside world. As the host city of World Expo 2010, Shanghai, the major financial center in China, has seen an influx of tourists from all over the world. Under these circumstances, well-translated tourism texts about Shanghai are badly needed in order to provide foreign tourists with quality tourism information and attract more foreigners to visit Shanghai. However, the fact is, many English versions of Shanghai tourism texts are usually poorly translated,leading to communication failures and misunderstandings among foreign tourists, and fail to achieve the goal of cross-cultural communication. Due to the important role that tourism translation plays in the development of Shanghai’s international tourism, an in-depth study on it is of great significance and necessity.
